Overview

Medical claims submitted by dental practices will not be paid until the medical insurance company is satisfied to the medical necessity of the claim. The claim form itself and the codes on the claim are insufficient to establish medical necessity. It is the documentation submitted with the claim that answers the question of medical necessity and expedites payment. This module explores the documentation necessary to establish medical necessity and will introduce Letters of Medical Necessity and medical record keeping in SOAP format.
